Greenfield Global commits $10K to CKHA COVID-19 Relief Fund

A Chatham-Kent manufacturer is vowing to help communities deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation's COVID-19 Healthcare Relief Fund has received $10,000 from Greenfield Global as part of its commitment to help Chatham-Kent communities that have been impacted by COVID-19.

Global Greenfield's recently established Greenfield Cares Fund will be directing 41 grants totalling $400,000 to local charities in 11 communities where company employees live and work.

“These are incredibly challenging times, and we are committed to supporting local organizations that are helping those being hardest hit by COVID-19,” said Veselin Nikolov, plant manager at Greenfield’s Chatham facility. “Through the Greenfield Cares Fund, we are pleased to be supporting the phenomenal work being done by the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation, and are thankful for their positive impact in the community where we proudly live and work.”

Since the start of the global pandemic, Greenfield Global has played a role by supplying alcohol needed for hand sanitizers used to combat the virus. The Greenfield Cares Fund will support local organizations that provide essential services including hunger relief, shelter assistance and support for frontline workers.

With this most recent donation, the total amount of Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation’s COVID-19 Healthcare Relief Fund now stands at $300,000. Funds raised through the campaign will be used to purchase needed equipment at CKHA to help battle COVID-19.

Mary Lou Crowley, president and CEO of Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation, said she has been overwhelmed with how incredibly supportive the local business community has been throughout the past several weeks.

“Our local businesses have shown they are true leaders in this community, stepping up to help our hospital in so many ways," said Crowley.
