Campgrounds make up for late start to the season

Outdoor enthusiasts who don't mind the chill of autumn's breeze can enjoy camping at C.M. Wilson Conservation Area and the Big Bend Conservation Area until the end of October.

The Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority (LTVCA) has extended its camping season at the two campgrounds to make up for a late start to the season. C.M. Wilson and Big Bend sites will now be open until October 25.

The two campgrounds located in Blenheim and Southwest Middlesex opened for overnight stays in mid-July, after they partially reopened in May. The campgrounds reopened as part of the Ontario government's three-pillar reopening plan.

Current COVID-19 restrictions such as physical distancing will remain in place. The washroom and shower facilities will be open for use and enhanced sanitization protocols will continue.

Transient overnight and limited stay campers will be booked at a 50 per cent occupancy or as defined by the area supervisor.

Camping reservations can be made online through the LTVCA's website.
