Man accused of giving police a fake name

A 28-year-old man from Guelph is charged with obstructing police after he allegedly gave police a false name when they were investigating a domestic disturbance at an apartment in Chatham.

Police said they were called to the apartment shortly after 2 a.m. Tuesday, adding that when officers determined the man's true identity, they arrested him.

He was charged and later released with a future court date.

Traffic stop leads to drug charges

A 45-year-old Wallaceburg man is charged with drug possession after police allegedly found some suspected methamphetamine on him after they pulled him over in Wallaceburg.

Police said an officer on general patrol stopped the vehicle in the area of Bruinsma Avenue at around 3 a.m. Tuesday and arrested the driver for driving under suspension.

When the driver was being searched, police also allegedly found some methamphetamine in his possession.

The accused was charged accordingly and later released with a future court date.

Two arrests on outstanding warrants

CK police said a 48-year-old Windsor man who was wanted for robbery in Chatham-Kent was arrested in Windsor Monday afternoon.

The accused was taken back to Chatham-Kent for court purposes and was set to be held in custody pending a bail hearing.

In a separate case, a 32-year-old Chatham man who was wanted for breaching his probation was arrested early Tuesday morning.

The accused was charged and later released with a future court date.
