Chatham-Kent Public Health (CKPH) is now inviting all residents 75 years of age and older and all health care workers to book their COVID-19 vaccination appointments at the John Bradley Centre.
The health unit said those groups can call the COVID-19 Vaccination Line at 519-351-1010 starting Wednesday to book a vaccination appointment. Health care workers invited to book appointments now include: highest priority, very high priority, high priority and moderate priority.
Residents born in 1946 or earlier with a last name starting with A-M can call Monday, Wednesday, and Friday to book an appointment. Residents in that age group with a last name starting with N-Z can call Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Those booking appointments can leave a message and public health staff will return calls daily between 8:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m.
CKPH is also looking to fill vaccination appointments as soon as possible for CK residents who receive chronic home care. Click here for more information on vaccinations.
Meantime, COVID-19 cases keep climbing across Chatham-Kent. CKPH reported on Wednesday eight new cases and two resolved cases for a total number of 40 active cases. The two outbreaks at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance continue with five positive cases in the dialysis unit and lab services.
Schools across the region are also reporting cases. Chatham Christian School said it recently had its first case that is impacting one class. École élémentaire catholique Sainte-Marie in Chatham also has one case and one classroom in isolation. The Lambton-Kent District School Board is reporting one student case at A. A. Wright Public School in Wallaceburg and a staff case at Wallaceburg District Secondary School. The St. Clair Catholic District School Board said St. Anne Catholic School in Blenheim has a student case but the class remains open.
