Local vaccinations temporarily paused

Vaccine freezers in Chatham-Kent are once again empty.

The mass COVID-19 vaccination clinic at the John D. Bradley Centre in Chatham will be closed until the next shipment of vaccine arrives locally.

The clinic is expected to open back up on Tuesday. Mobile outreach vaccination clinics are set to continue throughout the weekend in Chatham-Kent.

“Thanks to the hard work of the [Chatham-Kent vaccination team,] we have used up our current supply as quickly and safely as we can, and have completed our vaccinations for this week,” read a Facebook post by Chatham-Kent Public Health.

Once it reopens, hours of operation at the clinic will continue to fluctuate as vaccine supplies continue to be limited.

Chatham-Kent is currently in Phase 1 of its vaccination plan. The following groups are currently eligible to be vaccinated:

-Residents, staff, and essential caregivers of congregate care settings for seniors

-Alternative level of care patients in hospitals

-Highest, very high, high and moderate priority health care workers

-Adults born in 1946 or earlier

-First Nation, Inuit, Metis and Urban Indigenous residents and their immediate household members aged 16+

-Adult recipients of chronic home care

Once the clinic reopens, vaccines can be booked by calling 519-351-1010. Chatham-Kent Public Health is currently not using the provincial booking system.
