In less than two weeks, a fourth mass COVID-19 vaccination clinic will open in the London-area.
The Middlesex London Health Unit says the clinic at the Earl Nichols Recreation Centre will officially open on Tuesday, May 25. The clinic was initially meant to be opened at the end of March, but local health officials announced on March 23 that the opening was being postponed indefinitely because there wasn't enough vaccine supply to warrant its opening.
However, with supply expected to greatly increase in the coming weeks and months, the health unit will move ahead with opening the clinic at the Earl Nichols Recreation Centre, at 799 Homeview Rd. near the intersection of Southdale Road and White Oak Road.
"The addition of the Earl Nichols site to the list of COVID-19 vaccination clinics will increase the number of appointments available to London and Middlesex County residents, as the region prepares to invite those over the age of 40 to receive their first dose of vaccine later this week," a news release from the health unit said.
According to the health unit, the first appointments at the Earl Nichols COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic will be available for booking as of Thursday, May 13 at 8 a.m.
The first dose will be delivered at the clinic during a media event on Friday, May 21.
