Three more members of the Old Colony Mennonite Church have been charged by Chatham-Kent police.
The latest charges were laid after officers responded to reports of three separate large gatherings on Sunday morning.
A 50-year-old Dover Township man was charged after a gathering at the Old Colony Mennonite Church on Wheatley Road in Wheatley. Police said approximately 160 cars were seen in the parking lot with over 100 people inside the church. Another gathering at the Old Colony Mennonite Church on Grove Mills Line in Dresden, where approximately 60 people were observed to be in attendance, also led to charges against a 48-year-old Chatham Township man. A 37-year-old Merlin mas was also charged following a gathering at the Old Colony Mennonite Church on Cundle Line in Charing Cross. Police said there were approximately 38 cars in the parking lot with over 90 people inside the church.
The men were all charged with failing to comply with a continued order under the Reopening Ontario Act.
A total of 16 charges have been laid against members of the local Old Colony Mennonite Churches since late December.
