Strong winds in the forecast may cause some issues along the Lake Erie shoreline.
The Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority has issued a shoreline condition statement for possible strong winds and rain in the area until Sunday.
Conservation officials are saying there is a risk of shore erosion, flooding, and damage, particularly for the Lake Erie shoreline in Chatham-Kent and Elgin County.
"Forecasts are predicting that winds will pick up later this afternoon and some forecasts suggest sustained wind speeds could climb above 35 kilometres per hour this evening," said Watershed and Information Services Manager Jason Wintermute in a statement.
"From late this evening into Sunday morning, various forecasts are predicting periods of strong sustained winds with peak wind speeds anywhere from 30 to 45 kilometres per hour with even stronger wind gusts."
Wintermute added that current winds were not predicted to go in a direction that may cause any issues along Lake St. Clair.Officials are monitoring conditions and will provide updates as they become available
