Search in Wallaceburg turns up fentanyl, scales, cell phones

Four Wallaceburg residents are facing drug trafficking charges after police executed a search warrant at a residence in that town Tuesday night.

Chatham-Kent police said they seized approximately $3,200 worth of suspected fentanyl along with some digital scales, cell phones, a debt list, some Canadian currency, and an air pistol.

A 35-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and three counts of failing to comply with his release conditions.

He was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

Three other people -- a 29-year-old Wallaceburg woman, a 28-year-old Wallaceburg woman, and a 23-year-old Wallaceburg woman -- were each charged with one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

They were all later released pending a future court date.

Aircraft engine failure leads to emergency landing in CK field

No injuries are being reported after a pilot from Windsor was forced to make an emergency landing in a field on Middle Line Tuesday night.

Chatham-Kent police said the pilot was flying his CH-601 aircraft when the engine failed.

Police said Transport Canada and the Transport Safety Board were notified of the incident and are taking the lead on the investigation now.
