The number of active COVID-19 cases in Chatham-Kent is back above the triple-digit mark.
CK Public Health reported 19 new cases of the COVID-19 virus Wednesday, bringing the total number of active cases in the community to 103.
The last time there were more than 103 active COVID-19 cases in Chatham-Kent was back on March 24, 2021.
According to CK Public Health, there are currently two outbreaks across the region. An outbreak in a workplace setting was reported Tuesday with four active cases. There is also a second outbreak, with two patients on the Medicine Unit at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance site in Chatham testing positive.
"While an outbreak is declared, there will be no visitors or care partners allowed for patients on the Medicine Unit," the statement read.
The outbreak in a congregate living setting that was recorded on August 26, with eight active cases, was resolved over the Labour Day long weekend.
Meanwhile, vaccination rates across the region continue to rise.
In Chatham-Kent, adults aged 18+ have an 80 per cent first-dose coverage rate and a full vaccination rate of 74 per cent. Youth aged 12 to 17 have a 63 per cent first-dose coverage rate and a full vaccination rate of 51 per cent.
The next clinic will be on Thursday, September 9 at Tilbury District High School for students and their families from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.
