Polls are open for Election Day in Ontario

It's decision day in Ontario.

The polls are now open for the province's 43rd general election.

Polling stations will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday. In order to vote, you must bring your registration card and one piece of identification verifying your name to your designated polling station. If you didn’t get a voter card in the mail, you can still cast a ballot by bringing a piece of ID with both your name and address on it.

CKNewsToday.ca will have the local results for the Chatham-Kent-Leamington and Lambton-Kent-Middlesex ridings as they come in this evening.

The race in Chatham-Kent-Leamington features five candidates -- Rick Nicholls, who was elected to three consecutive terms as a member of the Progressive Conservatives, is the incumbent in the riding, running for the Ontario Party this time after he was booted from the PC caucus for refusing to get the COVID-19 vaccine as required by the party. Trevor Jones is representing the Progressive Conservatives in the riding this time around, while Brock McGregor is running for the NDP, Jennifer Surerus is representing the Green Party, and Rhonda Jubenville is running for the New Blue party.
