The head of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation (CKHAF) has announced her plans to step down.
Mary Lou Crowley, the hospital foundation's president and CEO, confirmed Thursday that she plans to leave her role with the hospital to pursue a new leadership opportunity with the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital Foundation.
Crowley joined the foundation at CKHA in November 2017. CKHAF said it has experienced "significant success" and a wide range of achievements throughout her tenure, including a fundraiser which drummed up nearly $7.3-million in support of the foundation's Diagnostic Imaging Campaign. Crowley also oversaw the historic amalgamation of the Chatham-Kent Public General Hospital Foundation, the Foundation of Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, and the Sydenham District Hospital Foundation, which now form CKHAF.
"The Foundation is incredibly grateful for Mary Lou’s inspiration and transformative leadership, and will continue to follow her strong example as it fulfills its mission by leading the way in philanthropy and connecting the communities of Chatham-Kent in support of high-quality healthcare in our local hospital sites," read a statement from CKHAF.
In a statement, Crowley thanked the board for their dedication to local healthcare calling her time with CKHAF "a privilege."
"This journey has been made possible by the hard work of all these wonderful individuals, together with the support of our generous donors, corporate partners, and dedicated volunteers," said Crowley. "It has truly been an honour to be part of such a giving, caring community for so many years, and I am beyond confident that the Foundation will continue to experience great success with so much support from across Chatham-Kent."
The foundation's Board of Directors has commenced a recruitment process, with Crowley's last day set for sometime in July.
