Chatham woman arrested after allegedly damaging a neighbour's vehicle with a baseball bat 

A 36-year-old Chatham woman is facing a mischief charge after she allegedly threw a baseball bat at a neighbour's vehicle following an ongoing argument.

Police said they were called to the Raleigh Street area in Chatham at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday in response to a mischief investigation.

Officers learned the victim and the woman had been involved in an ongoing dispute.

Police said on this occasion, the victim was driving away from her home when the woman allegedly threw the bat and damaged the windshield of the vehicle.

The 36-year-old was arrested and charged with mischief.

She was transported to police headquarters and later released with conditions and a future court date.

Chatham man arrested in connection to fraud investigation 

Chatham-Kent police have managed to catch up with a 25-year-old man wanted in connection with a fraud investigation dating back to April.

Police said they found him on general patrol in the Dufferin Avenue area in Wallaceburg just before 3 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.

Officers arrested the man after learning that he was wanted on an outstanding warrant concerning a fraud investigation from April 6.

The 25-year-old was arrested and charged with possessing stolen property and using a stolen credit card.

He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.

A 29-year-old Wallaceburg man is charged with impaired driving after a well-being check in Wallaceburg.

Chatham-Kent police said they received a tip at around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday night about a man allegedly slumped over in a vehicle with the doors open at around 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

The officer believed the man was operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and arrested the man.

He was transported to police headquarters for further tests,

The 29-year-old  was charged with operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit.

He was released with conditions and a future court date. His vehicle was also towed.
