Crowfest Chatham-Kent looking for volunteers

After a successful debut last year, Crowfest Chatham-Kent is coming back.

The event will take place in downtown Chatham October 11-14, but volunteers are needed to help bring it all together.

"If you're new to the community it's a great way to meet people and kind of build your network," said co-chair Andrew Thiel. "If you're a student you can get your (volunteer) hours. You also get tickets to all the events if you're 19+, and you get some pretty cool free swag and you get to hang out with some pretty cool performers."

They're holding a volunteer information session on Tuesday, July 18 at 6 p.m. at St. Clair College in Chatham.

Crowfest was actually named Best New Festival or Event in 2022.

"That was very exciting, that really took us by surprise," said Thiel. "Festival and Events Ontario voted us Best New Festival in Ontario with a budget under $500,000. So that's another great reason to jump in, volunteer, be a part of it."

Thiel added that a lot of the same events are back and better than before, including the Dueling Pianos.

"This year it's going to be 'Great Balls of Fire' we have four pyro performers doing that beforehand. Thursday is the Gala, Friday and Saturday we have the buskers, the costume contest, and art classes."

Crowfest is also looking for more sponsors. More details about the event, and how to get involved, can be found at https://crowfestck.com/.
