One man charged and another seriously injured after fight
Chatham-Kent Police responded at around 8 p.m. on Friday to a disturbance in Ridgetown.
After a party, two men got into a "consensual physical altercation" that left one of them seriously injured, police said.
The injured man was taken to hospital for treatment. The second man was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.
"A person cannot consent to an aggravated assault, which leaves the victim wounded, maimed or disfigured," police advised.
Multiple charges laid following traffic stop
A Chatham man is facing charges after he refused to identify himself when pulled over by police.
Police stopped a vehicle at around 3 a.m. on Saturday, after an officer observed it being driven without lights.
During the traffic stop, police said that the driver refused to identify himself, which is required by law.
As he was being arrested, the man was believed to be under the influence of alcohol, police said. The driver was also found in possession of a knife that breached court conditions related to a different criminal matter.
A 50-year-old man faces charges of impaired driving, breaching release conditions, and failing to identify himself during a traffic stop.
