Police looking for driver involved in hit and run
Chatham-Kent police are appealing to the public for tips as they try to track down a driver who allegedly hit a parked vehicle in Chatham and then took off.
Officers said they were called to the scene on Baldoon Road in Chatham Sunday morning, adding that their investigation showed the driver of a black Nissan Altima hit another vehicle that was parked at the side of the road.
Police said the driver of the Altima took off, so officers are now trying to track them down.

Wooden planks stolen from barn in Ridgetown
Chatham-Kent police are investigating after someone stole about $75 worth of wooden planks from a barn on Shrewburg Road in Ridgetown.
Police said someone broke into the building sometime over the weekend and took off with "numerous" planks.

Man arrested for hitting someone with a bucket
A 30-year-old Tilbury man is facing an assault charge after he allegedly hit someone in the side of the head with a metal bucket.
Polcie said they made the arrest after responding to an assault complaint at a residence on Young Street in Tilbury Sunday night.
Officers said the man was charged with assault with a weapon and was later released pending a future court date.

Licence plate scanner alerts OPP to two wanted people
The Ontario Provincial Police's (OPP) licence plate scanners managed to officers in Chatham-Kent track down two more people who were wanted on outstanding warrants.
And both of them were wanted by police outside of the municipality.
OPP in Chatham-Kent said they stopped a passenger vehicle on the westbound Highway 401 in CK at around 11:30 a.m. Sunday after their Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) system registered a match for a wanted person.
The officer who pulled over the vehicle learned that the driver -- a 32-year-old from Gravenhurst -- was wanted by police in Windsor, so they were arrested and transferred to the Windsor Police Service.
Police also arrested a 45-year-old Sarnia resident who was wanted by the St. Thomas Police Service (STPS) after the ALPR system came up with a match shortly after 6:30 p.m. Sunday on Communication Road in Chatham-Kent.
In that case, the accused was transferred to the STPS to satisfy the warrant.
