Man wanted by London police stopped for speeding in Chatham-Kent
A 21-year-old Ontario man who was wanted by police in London drew some unwanted attention to himself when he was seen speeding through Chatham-Kent Thursday afternoon.
CK police said an officer on general patrol on Welch Line in Harwich Township pulled the man's vehicle over at around 2 p.m. Thursday after seeing it travelling at a "high rate of speed."
When police pulled the man over, they learned that he was wanted by the London Police Service for intimate partner violence charges.
He was arrested and turned over to police in London for court purposes and CK police also issued him a pair of traffic tickets.

Chatham man arrested for his own safety
A 50-year-old Chatham man was arrested Thursday night after he was reportedly seen standing in the middle of Longwoods Road in Chatham Township.
Police said officers were called to the area just before 8:30 p.m. Thursday and found the man to be intoxicated and unable to care for himself.
He was taken back to police headquarters and was held there until he sobered up.

Two arrests on Louella Court involving neighbourhood disputes
A 19-year-old Chatham man is facing an assault charge after he allegedly threw an empty beer bottle at someone during a neighbourhood argument.
CK police said they made the arrest after they were called to Louella Crescent in Chatham shortly after 9 p.m. Thursday for a neighbour dispute.
Officers said they learned some neighbours had been arguing there when the man allegedly chucked the empty bottle at some other people.
The accused was charged with assault with a weapon and was taken back to police headquarters before he was released with conditions and a future court date.
Chatham-Kent police made a second arrest on Louella Crescent in Chatham, just a few hours after the bottle-throwing incident.
Police said they were called back to the same street at around 12:20 a.m., noting that the dispute continued to the point where a man had threatened to harm his neighbours.
A 44-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with two counts of uttering threats.
He was taken to police headquarters and was later released with conditions and a future court date.

Police see motorcycle running a red light, meet driver at home
A 30-year-old Chatham man who allegedly ran a red light on a motorcycle arrived home just in time to meet local police there.
CK police said an officer on general patrol saw the motorcycle run a red light just before 1 a.m. Friday and recognized the driver, so police went to the man's home.
Police said as they were pulling up to the man's residence, he pulled into the driveway.
The officer who met the man there learned that he didn't have a valid driver's license for the motorcycle, so he was arrested and issued "several" tickets for Highway Traffic Act violations.

CK man arrested for messing with utility lines
A 25-year-old Chatham-Kent man has been booked for mischief after police got a call about someone tampering with utility lines on St. Clair Street in Chatham overnight.
Police said they were called to the scene just after 1 a.m. and found a suspect there.
He was arrested, charged, and later released with a future court date.
