Motor vehicle collision on Queens Line
Police responded to a crash on Queens Line near Drake Road at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
A vehicle going westbound drove off the highway to the south ditch of Queens Line and entered the water filled ditch. Officers, first on scene, entered the water and assisted the driver to safety.
Queens Line was temporarily closed while tow trucks removed the vehicle from the water.
The driver was not hurt.
Women arrested for theft and possession
Officers were called to Walmart on St. Clair Street in Chatham at 6:15 p.m. for a theft investigation.
Police learned the women left with a full cart of groceries. They were quickly located, arrested and charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of stolen property.
The women were released with a future court date.
