Windsor police are looking for a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a teenage girl.
Officers responded to an assault call on Monday in the area of Parent Avenue and Erie Street East. Police learned from a 15-year-old girl that she was assaulted and groped repeatedly the night before while sitting on a bench on Riverside Drive East near Parent Avenue.
The victim told police a man approached her, spat toward her, flicked a lit cigarette, which touched the victim's ankle, and touched her inappropriately as she repeatedly tried to shove him away.
The teen took a cellphone photo of the suspect before the victim left the area in a vehicle driven by a relative. The suspect followed their vehicle in an older-model blue minivan before the relative lost sight of the pursuing vehicle.
The suspect is described as a White male, about 30 to 40 years old, with a tall build. He was wearing a black hoodie with red and grey colouring at the time of the incident.
He is wanted for assault with a weapon, sexual assault, and sexual interference.
Anyone who recognizes the suspect or with additional information should call Windsor Police's Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Unit (CASA) at (519) 255-6700, extension 4903. Anonymous tips may be submitted to Crime Stoppers at (519) 258-TIPS (8477).
