Man accused of harassing resident, skipping court arrested
A Wallaceburg man who was arrested for threatening to shoot his neighbour last year is in more trouble with police after he allegedly skipped a scheduled court appearance.
Chatham-Kent police said the man was initially arrested in June 2024 at a multi-unit residence in Wallaceburg after police learned of some "ongoing disturbances" between two residents.
Police said their investigation showed that a 65-year-old Wallaceburg man had allegedly threatened to shoot a 38-year-old Wallaceburg resident who was also living in the same building as him.
The 65-year-old man was also accused of shutting off the water supply in the complainant's unit in addition to yelling and stomping within the residence through the day and night.
The accused was charged with uttering threats and mischief in connection with the case, but he allegedly skipped a court date in December last year.
Police arrested him on Monday and took him into custody pending a bail hearing.

Family dispute call leads police to wanted woman
A 28-year-old woman who was already wanted for mischief is facing an additional charge after she was found breaching her release conditions by contacting a victim.
Chatham-Kent police said they were called to a residence in Dover Township shortly before 9 p.m. Monday for a family dispute, adding that officers could hear yelling coming from inside the home when they arrived.
Officers found a 28-year-old woman from Dover Township inside and learned that she was allegedly breaching a condition that required her to stop contacting a 58-year-old female victim.
Police said the 28-year-old woman was also wanted for mischief in connection with an incident from September of last year where she allegedly damaged a vehicle during an argument.
The accused was arrested, charged, and later released with a future court date.
