Engines will be roaring in Pain Court on Friday, June 20 for the Dover Kinsmen Truck and Tractor Pull.
Gates open under the water tower at 5 p.m,. and the tractor pull begins at 6:30.
"We have two great associations that we partner with, the Ontario Truck and Tractor Pulling Association, along with the Southwestern Ontario Tractor Pullers Association. They feature our very own local pullers, Orville and Chris Couture, who operate Honest Pride."
But Waddick says it's a family event, and there's more than just the tractor pull going on.
"On the east side, we have two inflatable obstacle courses, plus the World of Sports four-in-one inflatable game," said Dover Kinsmen Past President Jaymie Waddick. "Now on the west side, we have a bigger and better beer garden, and after the pulls on the Mainstreet Credit Union stage, we have Dirt Country."
There will also be two food vendors on site selling food. Admission is $20, cash only, but kids 12 and under are free.
"So this will be our 27th annual pull. We hope you know anywhere from 3,000 to 5,000 (people), that's kind of been the numbers last couple of years," said Waddick, who added that there is lots of parking available on-site. "One thing we would really like to stress this year is the no parking on the Pain Court Line."
All of the money raised raised goes to a number of charities supported by the Dover Kinsmen.
"The Kinsmen's main charity is cystic fibrosis, so we donate a lot of money to cystic fibrosis. Then we pick different local charities, hospice, we've done a lot with the Children's Treatment Centre," said Waddick.
