Stolen Vehicle
Chatham-Kent (CK) police have recovered a vehicle reported stolen in Essex County.
At around 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, officers pulled over a vehicle on Holden Street in Dresden.
After confirming that the vehicle was reported stolen, police arrested the driver and a passenger. Each was charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000.
Officers also charged one of the suspects with obstructing justice after they allegedly provided a fake name. They were also turned over to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) due to an outstanding warrant.
Assault with a Vehicle
A 34-year-old Chatham man has been charged after allegedly driving into his former partner's vehicle.
At around 6 p.m. on Thursday, CK police received a report of a collision on King Street East in Chatham.
Witnesses told officers that one vehicle deliberately collided with another. There were no injuries reported.
Police later discovered that the two drivers were previously in a romantic relationship.
Officers arrested the driver who reportedly caused the crash, charging him with assault with a weapon, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, mischief, and failing to remain at the scene of a crash.
He's since been released from custody with a future court date on October 14, 2025.
Stolen Gas
CK police are asking the public for help finding a man who reportedly stole gasoline.
On Monday, a man filled up his blue 2008 Ford Ranger at the ESSO Gas Station on Queens Line in Tilbury and left without paying.
He was seen wearing a brown coat, black shorts, and flip-flops.
A brown dog was also seen in the truck.

The vehicle has red lighting on the rear bumper, white spotlights mounted under each taillight, large "HD" stickers on the upper corners of the rear windshield, a large yellow tote and a jerry can in the truck bed, and an Oakley sticker on the lower left corner of the rear windshield.
