CK police charge man for allegedly assaulting partner

A 52-year-old man has been charged after his partner was reportedly choked.

After 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Chatham-Kent (CK) police were called to a home in Chatham for a domestic dispute.

The accused and the victim, a 44-year-old woman, were known to police due to previous reports.

While investigating, officers were told of several assaults and damage done to the property. They also found a firearm with ammunition that wasn't stored safely.

The man was arrested and charged with two counts of assault causing bodily harm, two counts of mischief under $5,000, and careless storage of a firearm.
