Chatham-Kent police have made an arrest after getting a call about a man threatening to harm people.
The call came in just before 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
Police allege that a 46-year-old man had repeatedly threatened his partner over the course of a few weeks. Between October 21 and October 23, police were told that the suspect had threatened to break her legs and burn her with hot coffee.
Over the weekend, the man allegedly picked up an axe and held it in the air in an intimidating manner before threatening to use it on the woman, police said.
The man was arrested and faces charges, including two counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and one count of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
He has since been released from police custody with conditions and a future court date.
