Londoners dreaming of a white Christmas will be disappointed this year, but the same can't be said for about half of the country.
The Weather Network says it is guarantee that there will be no snow on the ground in our region on Friday. However, roughly half of Canadians will wake up to a winter wonderland on Christmas Day.
“Canadians can expect a tale of two Christmases this year, as you can divide the population pretty much in half in terms of whether or not they’re going to see a white Christmas,” says Chris Scott, Chief Meteorologist at The Weather Network. “While the vast majority of Southern Ontario, Southern Quebec and Atlantic Canada will see a green Christmas, there will be varying amounts of snow cover as you move west from Lake Superior across the Prairies. Most of British Columbia, with the exception of the lowest elevations along the South Coast, will also see a white Christmas.”
While the sight of grass on Christmas morning might be disappointing to many, there is a silver lining. Travel will be made easier without the worry of snowy conditions on the roads. Even areas that are expecting a white Christmas won't have to worry about storm activity, according to The Weather Network.
For those longing for the arrival of true winter weather, The Weather Network says they won't have to wait long. Its forecasters say cold temperatures are coming in the new year.
