Knights Select Future Players

The London Knights are looking to the future in the midst of their OHL playoff run.

The Knights had 19 picks in the 2017 OHL Priority Selection, held on Saturday.

Their first round choice, 18th overall, is centre Lucas Rowe of the Mississauga Minor Midget Reps.  The five-foot-11, 164 pound native of Etobicoke, Ont. had 18 goals for 35 points this season for the Reps, who recently beat the Toronto Minor Midget Nationals for the OHL Cup.

The Knights are in the middle of their OHL Western Conference semifinal series against the Erie Otters.  The best-of-seven series is tied at a game apiece.  Game 3 is set for Tuesday night at Budweiser Gardens.

The remaining picks for the Knights in the draft are as follows, in the order they were drafted:

  • Andrew Perrott, defenceman, 34th overall (second round from the Mississauga Steelheads), from Detroit.  He had six goals for 31 points this season with the Detroit HoneyBaked 16U team.
  • Dalton Duhart, centre/left winger, 47th overall (third round from the Sudbury Wolves), from Flint.  He had 17 goals and 42 points this season with the Detroit Belle Tire 16U team.
  • Emmet Pierce, right winger, 66th overall (fourth round from the Ottawa 67s), from Napanee, Ont.  He had 22 goals for 57 points with the Quinte Minor Midget Red Devils this season.
  • Alex Vlasic, defenceman, 77th overall (fourth round), from Wilmette, Illinois.  He had 13 points and eight penalty minutes this season for the Chicago Mission U16 team.
  • Hunter Skinner, defenceman, 97th overall (fifth round), from Pinckney, Michigan.  For the Detroit Belle Tire 15U team this season, he had 14 penalty minutes.
  • Liam Whittaker, defenceman, 99th overall (fifth round from the Owen Sound Attack), from Holland Landing, ON.  He scored eight goals for the York-Simcoe Minor Midget Express this season.
  • Brayden Krieger, centre, 107th overall (sixth round from the Sudbury Wolves), from Elora, Ont.  He had 15 goals for 33 points this season for the Waterloo Minor Midget Wolves.
  • Cameron Rowe, goalie, 136th overall (seventh round from the Windsor Spitfires), from Wilmette, Illinois.  In this season's OHL Showcase, he had a 2.04 goals-against average for the TPH 16 Tournament team.
  • Noah Beck, defenceman, 137th overall (seventh round), from Richmond Hill, Ont.  He most recently played for the Markham Minor Midget Majors.
  • Owen Say, goalie, 157th overall (eighth round), from London.  He had a 12-1 record and a 1.20 GAA this season for the London Minor Midget Knights.
  • Danny Weight, centre/left winger, 167th overall (ninth round from the Sudbury Wolves), from Lattington, N.Y.  He had 19 goals this season for the PAL Junior Islanders 16 team.
  • Nicolas Chartrand, centre, 190th overall (10th round from the Hamilton Bulldogs), from Rockland, Ont.  This season, he scored nine goals for the Cumberland Midget Grads.
  • David Anderson, right winger, 197th overall (10th round), from Cambridge, Ont.  He scored 18 goals and had 38 penalty minutes this season for the Cambridge Minor Midget Hawks.
  • Daniel Torrealba, left winger, 217th overall (11th round), from Toronto.  For the Toronto Marlies this season, he had nine goals for 26 points.
  • Keighan Gerrie, centre, 237th overall (12th round), from Thunder Bay, Ont.  This season with the Thunder Bay Kings U16 team, he had nine goals for 22 points.
  • Jonathan Williams, goalie, 257th overall (13th round), from St. Louis.  For the St. Louis Blues AAA 16U team this season, he had a 13-3 record and a 1.87 goals-against-average.
  • Cameron Pulop, defenceman, 277th overall (14th round), from Barrie, Ont.  He had 16 penalty minutes and scored 14 points for the York-Simcoe Minor Midget Express this season.
  • Tyler Kress, centre, 297th overall (15th overall), from Cambridge, Ont.  He scored ten goals this season and had 18 penalty minutes for the Cambridge Minor Midget Hawks.
