Knights Shut Out in Guelph 4-0

The London Knights' offence fizzled against the Guelph Storm Sunday.

Joseph Raaymakers allowed four goals in the Knights' 4-0 loss to the Storm at the Sleeman Centre. The loss ends a four game winning streak for London.

Despite the streak, the Knights remain in last place in the OHL Midwest Division with 11 points. The Storm move up to third place in the division with 16 points.

The game was scoreless in the first period, and the Knights killed off two penalties. Guelph's Dmitri Samorukov received a ten-minute misconduct in the period as well.

The Storm scored twice in the middle frame. Cam Hillis scored his fourth goal of the season. This was followed by Ryan Merkley scoring short-handed and pushing the Guelph lead to 2-0 after 40 minutes of play.

Guelph scored two more goals in the third period, off the sticks of Nate Schnarr and James McEwan. Garrett McFadden had two assists for the Storm in the game.

Raaymakers had 26 saves in goal for the Knights. Anthony Popovich stopped all 37 London shots he faced in goal for the Storm.

The Knights host the Saginaw Spirit at Budweiser Gardens Friday night.
