The London International Airport's President and CEO says he plans to retire at the end of 2021 following a 30-year career.
Michael Seabrook spent a large part of his career working as an airport executive before he subsequently landed the role as head of the airport back in 2012.
Board of Directors Chair Michelle Faysal says Seabrook helped improve both the airside and non-airside aspects of the business during his nearly decade-long tenure.
"On behalf of the board, the employees and our air partners and tenants, along with all of the passengers that we connect to the world, I would like to thank Mike for his contributions, vision and leadership," said Faysal.
In recognition of his efforts, the board was granted approval from the City of London to rename the main roadway at the airport from Terminal Circle Road to Seabrook Way.
"[Mike] has established a strong foundation of growth and self-sufficiency for our airport that will be built upon in the years to come," Faysal added.
The board says it has started the recruitment process to replace Seabrook and will consider both internal and external candidates for the role.
