Residents of the Chippewas of the Thames First Nation, located 30 kilometres southwest of London, are advised to boil their water.
The advisory was issued on Wednesday due to the volume of water in their elevated water storage tower.
Water used for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, making beverages, washing babies and washing fruit and vegetables should be boiled and cooled before use.
Additionally, First Nation officials have also asked residents to conserve water throughout July.
"Due to the extreme heat we have been experiencing, our water tower is struggling to keep up. In order to keep our water safe, we are asking that everyone conserves water for this month," a tweet from the Chippewas of the Thames First Nation read.
The boil water advisory is expected to remain in place for at least three weeks.
