Two London men were arrested late last week after a search at a home near Western University turned up weapons and over $50,000 in illegal drugs.
Last Friday, members of the London Police Service Drugs and Gangs Section, Mobile Service Unit, and Emergency Response Unit arrested two male suspects in a vehicle near Oxford and Richmond Streets.
Following the arrests of the two men, a search warrant was performed at a home near Richmond Street and Broughdale Avenue. Officers seized several weapons and substances from the home, including the following.
A loaded 9mm Smith and Wesson semi-automatic pistol with a laser sight
14 rounds of 9mm ammunition
One extended semi-automatic pistol magazine
One armorer pistol sighting device
427 grams of suspected cocaine
88 grams of suspected purple fentanyl
19.5 oxycodone tablets
An unspecified amount of cash
A digital scale
Investigators pegged the total value of the drugs seized at $56,017.
As a result, the two men, ages 20 and 23, are jointly charged with two counts of possession of a schedule one substance and possession of a schedule one for the purpose of trafficking.
The 23-year-old accused faces additional charges of unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a loaded regulated firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, occupying a vehicle with a firearm, possession of a prohibited weapon without authority, and failing to comply with a release order.
Both of the accused appeared in a London courtroom on Tuesday.
