The City of London received almost $1.3 million for hosting a casino in the Western Fair district.
The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) reported that London got $1,298,700 for the first quarter this year, which ran from April 1 to June 30.
The quarterly payments are made to all cities that host casinos. OLG uses a graduated scale of gaming revenue made at the hosted site to calculate the amount.
"Host communities support important community programs and services and strengthen their local infrastructure with these gaming revenues," Ontario Minister of Finance Peter Bethlenfalvy said.
The agency considers payments to host cities as part of its commitment to Ontario, with 100 per cent of the OLG's profits being reinvested in the province.
Since 1994, host communities have received more than $2 billion in non-tax gaming revenue.
London opened its Gateway Casino site in 1999, and has received a total of $93,786,621 since then.
