London police say a 16-year-old boy is facing charges after a disturbance in the northeast end of the city led to police seizing a sawed off shotgun.
Police were called to a home on Rhine Avenue around 1:35 a.m. Wednesday by a citizen who reported hearing a gunshot. Prior to the sound of the gunshot, there had been a disturbance outside a nearby home.
Several officers responded to the scene and one person was arrested.
No injuries were reported.
A search of the home led to the seizure of a 12-gauge single barrel sawed off shotgun, a rifle scope, and three cellular phones.
A 16-year-old, who cannot be named due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with discharging a firearm in a reckless manner, possession of a firearm other than a restricted or prohibited firearm, possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order, and careless storage of a firearm.
The teen is to appear in court January 26.
