Two people pepper sprayed, threatened during dispute with stranger

A parking lot dispute in London's Glen Cairn neighbourhood saw two people pepper sprayed and a third person arrested.

The incident began around 1 p.m. on Saturday when a man got into an argument with two people he did not know in a parking lot on Pond Mills Road near Commissioners Road East. The man is alleged to have pulled out a can of pepper spray and squirted it on the pair before threatening to kill them.

London police were called after the man took off into a nearby apartment.

The two people hit with the pepper spray did not require medical attention, police said.

A 36-year-old man was arrested and is charged with half a dozen offences including assault with a weapon, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon, and possession of a prohibited weapon contrary to prohibition order.

The man is scheduled to appear in London court in relation to the charges on March 20.
