ATVs Soon to Have More On Road Liberties

All-terrain vehicle operators in Ontario will have more on-road liberties beginning July 1st.

Government officials say as of next month, two-up ATVs, side-by-side ATVs, and utility-terrain vehicles will be allowed to use the shoulder of public roads.

Officials say the ATV must be registered and insured and the operator must hold at least a G2 or M2 licence in order to ride along public roadways.

All riders will have to wear a helmet and use a seatbelt or foot rests.

Currently, only single-rider ATVs can operate along certain provincial and municipal highways.
