Watermain Replaced In Bluewater Thanks To Federal And Provincal Government

Residents of the Municipality of Bluewater will benefit from a shoreline small diameter watermain replacement, thanks to joint funding from the province and the federal government.

Work will entail replacing the existing watermain along the shoreline with larger diameter watermain to increase the capacity of the water distribution system.

"We are pleased to invest in projects like the Bluewater Shoreline Small Diameter Watermain Replacement that will benefit our community by improving much needed local infrastructure," says Huron-Bruce MP Ben Lobb during the announcement on Thursday.

The upgrades will help deliver efficient and reliable water services, improving the quality of drinking water in the municipality for years to come.

Through the Small Communities Fund, the federal government will provide up to $97,690. The province will contribute the same amount, and the Municipality of Bluewater will be responsible for all remaining costs of the project.

"Bluewater appreciates receiving this investment from the federal and provincial governments so that we can maintain and upgrade our infrastructure," says Bluewater Mayor Tyler Hessel. "This project will support existing residents and future growth along the shoreline."
