Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound Vote

An Environics poll result from last week showed incumbent Conservative Larry Miller and the Liberals Kimberley Love in a virtual tie with Miller with 41 per cent support, Love 40 per cent.

The poll gives the NDP's David McLaren 16 per cent and Green Party candidate Chris Albinati at 4 per cent.

Larry Miller has represented the riding since 2004. He says the economy is the real issue in the election and slams the Liberals deficit spending plan. For Miller the real work of an MP is in the constituency between elections.

This is the second try in federal politics for Kimberley Love. She's currently works as a communications consultant. Love believes the riding is ready for change and Justin Trudeau provides a real vision for the country.

The NDP's David McLaren is a first time candidate in Bruce Grey Owen Sound. He lives at Cape Croker and has done communication work for the Saugeen Nation. He thinks strategic voting is a bad idea. He says people should look at party platforms and vote according to who they believe will best represent them in Ottawa.

Green Party candidate Chris Albinati is a lawyer living in Allenford. He believes his personal, can one on one style, can best serve the riding in Ottawa.

All four candidates will be in at gatherings in Owen Sound as the election results come in.

Bruce Grey Owen Sound has 81,000 eligible voters. In 2011 the turn out was 65 per cent.
