The Bluewater District School Board is marking Bullying Awareness and Prevention week with activities that encourage a positive school climate. The board wants to work with staff on the issue regularly, to foster and promote well being and safe learning environment. A number of secondary schools have created safe spaces to promote inclusivity, anti stigma and positive school cultures. It's a chance to help students gain support form caring adults at school as well as offering access to resources through community partners. “Our mental health and wellness strategy for Bluewater District School Board is evolving as we continue to develop initiatives, protocols and procedures that are built on current evidence-based research and practices. Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week is another opportunity for our students and staff to highlight this important, meaningful and proactive ongoing work that permeates all that we do,” says Learning Services Administrator Wendy Kolohon.
