Flood Watches remain in effect Tuesday for several parts of Midwestern Ontario.
Because of the recent heavy rainfall and saturated soil conditions, the Maitland Valley Conservation Authority has issued Flood Watches for Lucknow and Harriston.
And residents living along the rest of the Maitland and Nine Mile River watersheds are advised that all watercourses will remain high and flowing fast for the next few days.
The Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority is closely watching the the Penetangore and Pine Rivers for rapid rising. Ground conditions are saturated, so the current runoff is causing ponded fields and quickly rising water levels.
It's a similar situation in the Ausable Bayfield, and Grey Sauble watersheds.
River levels will remain high through the Grand River watershed for the next few days. Officials are keeping a close eye on the level of the Grand River through the Town of Grand Valley, but major flooding is not expected.
All local residents are reminded to use extreme caution near watercourses, and to keep children and pets away from the fast-flowing waterways.
