A number of Municipalities throughout Midwestern Ontario are getting a financial boost from the Province in support of local festivals and events for 2016.
It's all part of the Provincial Government's initiative to help create jobs and stimulate local economies and so they're investing more than $15 million dollars into local festivals and events to do so.
The largest chunk of change will go to the Stratford Festival, a total of $255,000 that will help the organization work to attract younger audiences to the venue.
"The funding that we're receiving from them is going towards development of the production of 'The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe' and also 'As You Like It' which are two great selections for young audiences," says Anita Gaffney, the Stratford Festival's Executive Director.
The Ontario Plowmen's Association and the International Plowing Match will receive $254,200 from the Province in support of the 2016 International Plowing Match and Rural Expo.
