Fundraiser For Brussels Family After Fire Destroyed Their Home

The community is generously supporting a fundraising campaign for a Brussels family who lost their home to fire.
Family Friend Amanda Bramhill Collins says Amy and Callum Reid lost everything they own in the blaze Saturday
"Callum got the boys out, and that was about all he got out.  He grabbed a couple of lap tops and I think that was it.  And then there was nothing else saved at all," says Collins
She set up a go fund me account, and says the community has been very supportive of the family. Over $13,000 has been raised.
"We've been so pleased and quite surprised at how generous people  have been. And.....  My kitchen right now is full of stuff that we're sorting through for the boys. There's so many toys, and clothes and household supplies.  We're picking up stuff still.  A pretty steady stream of Facebook messages, for stuff people are wanting to give, so it's wonderful," says Collins.
Jackson is nearly 6 months old, and Liam is almost 3 years old.  She says Liam is so sad to lose all of his Christmas gifts.
Anything that people have is welcome.  Basic needs like diapers and cleaning supplies would be helpful.
People can call Amanda at 519-357-0602 if they would like to donate.  And the Family Tree Store is Wingham is also setting up an account at the store, so the family can shop for things they need.
3 local fire departments responded to the blaze late Saturday night.
Huron East Chief Marty Bedard says upon arrival in heavy winter weather conditions, the house was fully engulfed. All occupants made it out safely after being alerted by a fire alarm. The house was deemed a total loss.
