New myPerthHuron Platform Looking At Quality Of Life In Communities

The Social Research and Planning Council, in collaboration with the Perth-Huron United Way and the University of Waterloo, have launched a new online resource that will allow them to collect data on a wide variety of indicators of quality of life in a community.

Council Director Tracy Birtch points out that kind of data can be difficult to access, particularly in rural communities but the myPerthHuron platform will make information about things like education, housing, health care, employment opportunities and many other indicators available to anyone who wants them. Birtch says the online tool will allow people to compare communities and help identify areas that need improvement as well as help in getting government grants for different projects.

Birtch adds myPerthHuron will also help build collaborations that might not otherwise work together.
