The Huron Residential Hospice is celebrating two special events this Sunday.
Director Jay McFarlan explains the Hike for Hospice is an annual event and a national event and this will be celebrated at the Huron Hospice because they have twelve acres of land behind the house and a trail has been created on that land that has been dubbed Tranquility Trail so it's the perfect place for the hike.
McFarlan says the second event is the grand opening of the Hospice and that will include a tour of the house, lawn games, a bouncy castle and a pig roast at 3pm. McFarlan says anyone who just wants to come and see the house and enjoy the pig roast is welcome. Tickets for the pig roast are $20 each but he says anyone who has fund-raised 100 dollars or more eats free. The Huron Residential Hospice is located on Hwy. 8, just outside of Clinton, across from the Woodlands Golf Course
“The Hike for Hospice is an annual event, a national event and this year it's happening at the Hospice because we have twelve acres of space and a nice, lush trail cut through the back meadow. It's been dubbed the Tranquility Trail by Maitland Trail and the Bayfield Trail Associations. It's quite a peaceful place," says McFarlan." And then there's a hike happens at 1:30pm. And stick around for some lawn games, there's a bouncy castle, lots of fun stuff happening around the house and an open house and an open tour and a pig roast happening at 3pm.
