The mayor of Central Huron hosted his sixth annual Mayor's Mingle Monday night at Windmill Lake near Bayfield.
Jim Ginn says he's optimistic rural Ontario will get a little more recognition than it did from the previous provincial government, but he says it's difficult to predict what a new government will do.
"I don't expect there'll be a lot of money flowing but I do expect we'll certainly have far more rural representation in the caucus and around the cabinet table than we've had previously", stated Ginn. "I'm hopeful that will bring to light to more rural issues and not everything urban dominated."
Ginn says there's also been a push lately to take economic development outside of the Greater Toronto Area and spread it around the rest of the province and let some places that haven't a chance to experience growth grow, so that's also good news for rural Ontario.
