Wellington County Council has elected Centre Wellington Mayor Kelly Linton to the warden's position for the 2019 to 2020 term.

Linton has represented Centre Wellington since 2010 and has served on County Council since 2015.

He has been a member of the Economic Development, Roads and Administration, Finance and Human Resources committees. He is also very active on various community boards and committees.

Linton completed his Master's Degree in Public Policy and Administration from the University of Guelph and has 20 years of experience working as a consultant with other municipalities across Canada.

He said he is committed to making Wellington County an even better place to live, work and raise a family.

“I want to congratulate Warden Linton,” said past warden Dennis Lever. “Kelly has shown strong leadership at the County level, and as mayor of Centre Wellington. Wellington County is in very capable hands.”

Scott Wilson, the county’s chief administrative officer, is looking forward to Warden Linton’s leadership.

“Warden Linton brings a lot of political experience to the role of Warden,” said Wilson. “He’s been a strong voice on the County’s Economic Development, Roads and Administration, Finance and Human Resources Committees. Wellington County Council and staff look forward to working with Warden Linton.”

“I consider it an enormous privilege to be selected by my peers to serve as Wellington County Warden for the next two years,” said Linton. “I look forward to being part of this team committed to delivering results and citizen-focused government.”
