There will soon be some upgrades made to the North Huron Council chambers in Wingham.
Director of Public Works Sean McGhee said there are issues with the current setup inside the chambers.
"First and foremost would be the issue of closed session confidentiality, and we're looking at some sound deadening and soundproofing for the chambers itself," he said.
McGhee said the main doorway into the chamber will be replaced with a better soundproofing doorway. He added they want to address the issue of sight-lines when multimedia presentations are made.
"What we're proposing is a very typical council chamber layout where you would have one very large monitor, an LCD monitor behind the head table, and then one smaller version on either side of the chamber as well," he said.
McGhee said currently there is just one large projector screen, and it makes it hard for all of council and the public to see presentations. The approved max cost of the project is $10,000 and it won't affect the budget, as it will come from the Town Hall reserve fund.
