Bruce County council has approved its 2019 budget.
The taxable assessment increased 5.4 percent over 2018, and includes a 1.3 per cent increase directly related to new growth and development.
The residential tax rate for 2019 will be 0.71 per cent higher than the residential tax rate last year.
Acting CAO Murray Clarke said he is pleased with the Budget and Business Plans.
"The vision of council and the decisions to support the 2019 Budget and Annual Business Plans sets a solid foundation for future year’s technology and innovative initiatives which will return high value to the Bruce County taxpayer," he said.
The spending total of over $46.8 million is up almost two million from last year.
"I am pleased that as a result in assessment growth in Bruce County we have been able to approve a budget that is affordable and maintains the tax rates, while investing in our people and infrastructure," said Warden Mitch Twolan.
