A date is set for an open house to decide the future of the Listowel Memorial Arena.
Interim Director of Recreation for North Perth Amy Gangl said the event will be a public forum to help make a final decision.
"The members of the Recreation Advisory Committee will be there for public input. So an open house, basically wanting to get the public's input with regards to the future of that arena," said Gangl.
She added many local service groups and clubs were consulted in meetings last month on their ideas for the future of the site, with one specific condition being shared.
"Obviously from our Friends of 59 they want to make sure that the memory of the individuals who lost their lives at the arena are always being remembered, so however that is, that's the main focus for them," said Gangl.
Other suggestions included ensuring there's perhaps more available parking for the curling club and baseball diamonds.
The rink will either be demolished for parking, used as a smaller scale rec centre, or converted possibly into municipal storage.
The open house is Tuesday, June 11 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the arena.
