The Town of Saugeen Shores says it posted a rejected waterfront development building concept on the town website in error. The early concept from Pier Donnini had been rejected by CAO David Smith. The early variation was posted briefly Monday and then removed. Mayor Luke Charbonneau insists Council is committed to public consultation regarding the plan and assures residents the final concept will be presented in an open forum at an upcoming date. Project proponent Pier Donnini has provided a number of conceptual drawings as options for Town staff to provide initial feedback. But Donnini says the plan posted online is not the concept he is working toward in partnership with the municipality. The Waterfront revitalization project is currently ongoing. The Town received more than 1,500 responses on its public survey and 39 speakers voiced their opinions on the project at the public meeting on September 3, 2019. Pier Donnini’s presentation from the September 3 public meeting is available on thecedarcrescentvillage.com
