Perth County Council has received a special report from Upper Thames River Conservation Authority.
The report was a study on Natural Heritage Systems, and Warden Walter McKenzie said the study is simply a mandatory piece of the county's natural heritage plan that the province requires council's to do.
"They identified areas like wetlands and environmentally significant areas for us," said McKenzie. "A new one that has been identified that wasn't before I believe, was river valleys."
McKenzie said the study simply details and identifies significant environmental lands and areas to be aware of within the county, and that the study won't change any by-laws on development that currently exist in Perth County.
"We looked at what we had in our original official plan, and what the impact of the study would be on the new official plan, and there's very very little difference," he said.
