Ontario Municipal Partnership Funds announced in Grey Bruce Owen Sound

Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MPP Bill Walker has announced that local municipalities will receive $15,982,000 in 2020 through the Ontario Municipal Partnership Fund.

The program primarily supports northern and rural communities.

Walker said he was pleased to announce specific funding for local municipalities, so they can go into budgeting processes with the information they need.

Next year, the province will invest $500 million in 389 municipalities across Ontario through the partnership funding.

“This is great news for our local municipalities. Our government continues to work collaboratively with our municipal partners,” said Walker. “I’m very happy local municipalities will go into their budget planning processes with this information ahead of time.”

"Municipalities told us that they need information early to plan their budgets, and we listened. That's why we're announcing the allocations for the 2020 OMPF today — the earliest they have ever been announced," said Minister of Finance Rod Phillips. "We are confirming that building strong local partnerships with municipalities is an important part of our plan to build Ontario together."

Arran-Elderslie - $1,574,000

Chatsworth - $853,700
